BACKGROUND:

Tidal Teaching School are leading a Research and Development project to help develop partnership working across the area for quality and sustainable improvement for all of our children.

The Ofsted Annual Early Years Report 2015 highlighted:

‘…if schools are acting in the best interests of children, they will also have strong partnerships with all the early education providers that the children in their Reception classes are most likely to attend.’

‘Improved readiness for school will require a combination of system leadership, more focused challenge from Ofsted and greater leadership from primary schools.’

The conference will be led by Simon Witham, Headteacher, Thorpe Park Primary School and each session will include a key note speech by Sue Robb (4 Children).

Since training as a teacher Sue has worked in a variety of schools in many differing roles. In 2011 Sue joined the charity 4 children as Head of Early Years with the specific brief to lead the development of the Department for Education’s new Early Years Strategic Programme, Foundations for Future.  She is recognised nationally for her work on Early Years Quality Improvement.
