Gerald trained at E15 Acting School and for many years was a professional actor, writer, director and drama facilitator working throughout the UK and Europe. He has extensive experience of making theatre and leading drama in primary, secondary, and special school settings. He has successfully used drama to improve speaking and listening, social skills, boost confidence and self-esteem, and promote collaborative working. He has designed and delivered drama workshops on a range of curriculum topics.
Gerald is currently Creative Arts Director at Bridgeview Whitehouse where his role includes championing the creative arts, co-ordinating arts provision across the school, and building partnerships with artists and arts organisations. Gerald is also a Specialist Leader in Cultural Learning (SLiCL) and is available to give advice and support staff on Arts Awards and Arts Mark, deliver CPD and training on the use of drama in the classroom, assist with arts funding bids, and broker relationships with artists and arts organisations.
Gerald is passionate about the role of the arts in the development and well-being of children and the need for more creativity in the classroom.
