Neasden Primary School

SLE for English, Early Years, Phonics and ITT

I have been employed as Assistant Headteacher at Neasden Primary for the past seven years. In addition to my SLT responsibilities I lead the EYFS, KS1, Literacy and Phonics, and have done so for the past ten years. Underpinning my various leadership roles I have twelve years teaching experience throughout the school, based mainly in the Early Years and Key Stage One where my teaching has consistently been judged to be outstanding.

I work closely with the Headteacher and Senior leaders as part of a small but highly effective team, whose leadership and management – particularly in respect of improving teaching and learning – were judged to be outstanding in our most recent Ofsted inspection:

“The Headteacher and senior leaders have taken highly effective action and worked relentlessly to improve the quality of teaching. The school’s self-evaluation is highly accurate. Leaders have precise knowledge of strengths and areas for development. Leaders work alongside teachers in classrooms for a week at a time. They teach with them, observe and mentor and give detailed guidance and feedback to help teachers improve and develop their practice. Morale is high and there is a shared desire to continually improve and develop the very best practice.”
