What is our offer?

Tidal Teaching School is an alliance of partners from Kingston upon Hull and the East Riding. We are secondary, primary and special schools, a pupil referral unit, higher education institutes, educational consultants and educational agencies.

Our approach to school improvement is to promote working harder on the things that really matter and shelving the less important. It is about collaboration – about making sure no school feels alone. We have strengths to share, but to effect real change it has to be based on real practice. We aim to help schools become laboratories of innovation, where teachers are encouraged to reflect and share findings from their work.

The capacity to improve our schools lies within schools. Tidal Teaching School Alliance will tap into that potential. By using audits of need and current research we will help to train the next generation of teachers through School Direct. Students will learn from the best. As well as Initial Teacher Training we will provide professional development opportunities for all, creating pathways of development from newly qualified teachers to Executive Headships. We will support and strengthen practice in schools on an individual basis responding to identified needs.

Our alliance is led by a strategic board of heads, principals and leaders from strategic partners. Steering groups for Initial Teacher Training, continuous professional development, leadership development, research and development and specialist leaders of education will ensure the alliance is working to achieve the best outcomes for all children.
